Firescrum is an open source tool developed to support agile project management under the SCRUM methodology. Firescrum is being released under the GPL license and has a number of RIA (rich internet application) features.

    The FireScrum is an intuitive and easy-to-use SCRUM projects management environment focused on Rich Internet Application(RIA) technology, aims to support the project management in software companies, mainly the ones that uses agile project management principles, specifically talking about Scrum.

The FireScrum is a product that was born from the activities developed during the Software Engineering Master Program of the CESAR.EDU, the education part of the C.E.S.A.R, a world-class private institution that creates products, processes, services and innovative companies using Information and Communication Technologies.

Now the FireScrum is a product of INES (Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia para Engenharia de Software), a brazilian software engineering institute.

Why build this tool?

FireScrum intents to help teams that faces any or all of the following problems:

    * Team members that can’t be every day with the rest of the team.
    * The client wants a closer look at the project status without having to be on the site.
    * Teams that don’t want to build and maintain a scrum board.
    * And don’t want to loose the visibility of the taskboard.

Why another web-based scrum tool?

We believe that we can improve the produtivity of team members providing a clean and easy-to-use user interface . Our experience with Scrum tell us that agility is everything, so, we are trying to build a tool that helps people to be more agile when they are managing tasks, extracting reports, buildind the backlog and so on.
