Understanding TESTING ESTIMATION using Use Case Metrics

1. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explain a new approach to the estimation of software testing efforts based on Use Case Points [UCP] as a fundamental project estimation measure. Object oriented applications frequently rely on Use Cases to describe the business processes of a software application.
This methodology for estimation is in fact more reliable than functional point [FP].It works on the basic principle that more the complexity of the use case more is the time taken to design, develop, test and implement. The caveat here is that the V릑odel must be in use and use case generation must start becoming available right at the requirements gathering phase. This paper provides the steps wise testing estimation process using the Use Case Point [UCP].
