QA process.
Purpose
It is the policy of UltraLink Information Technology to provide a Quality Assurance function as an internal means of maintaining the quality and effectiveness of systems developed or acquired by the department. The key responsibility of the Quality Assurance group is the review and testing of software during the development cycle and prior to release to production. This includes the testing of acquired and custom built systems. The testing process is undertaken to help ensure that a system will meet the defined needs of the customer and that it will work properly in the customer’s environment.
In order to more consistently and effectively test systems, a process has been defined for this function. The Test Process has been developed to provide a standardized method for addressing the testing needs of the UltraLink organization. The process will provide a consistent, repeatable methodology that will operate across all projects. It will also provide a method to measure the effectiveness of the testing efforts with the goal of seeking ways to improve that effectiveness.
This document provides definitions, processes, and procedures for the Quality Assurance Test Process.
